Free Excel PT Running Camp - 6/10/2017

Sometimes the best way to start running is not to put on your running shoes. Your first best step is to attend the Excel Physical Therapy Running Camp - a free three-hour boot camp on Saturday, June 10, 2017 to help you start running correctly and avoid pain & injury. Excel Physical Therapy is hosting this running boot camp at our Bozeman location at 1125 West Kagy Blvd., Ste. 101A (corner of South 11th Ave. and Kagy Blvd.).

Our Running Specialist PT Team will guide 30 participants through:

  • Appropriate stretching and strength exercises to prevent injury

  • How to choose the correct running shoes

  • Introduce proper training guidelines to reduce the risk of running injuries

  • A training run with the PT Team
  • Attendee's will a running training program handout from our Running Specialist PT Team

Snow flurries don’t stop most runners from running here in the Gallatin Valley and while running may continue well into cooler temperatures, don’t let a running injury inhibit your ski season! Especially a stress fracture. Up to 10% of runners may suffer from a stress fracture at some point during their running career, and the majority of these injuries are due to training error. Many runners don’t consider a change in terrain a change in training, but a change from trail to icy sidewalk can make a big difference in impact. A stress fracture begins with repetitive stress to the bone such that eventually causes microdamage. (more…)
