Low back pain is one of the most common musculoske

Low back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal injury or complaint resulting in a medical visit in America, and the World Health Organization estimates that 70% of us will likely experience back pain at some point in our lives. The good news is that, while back pain can have many different presentations, the right exercises can do a lot to help you not only feel better, but keep back pain at bay.
Resistance training, such as weight lifting, has proven to be an effective method of not only helping treat back pain, but also preventing it. Some studies have shown that people with back pain who engage in properly dosed resistance training have less pain, more muscle, and improved confidence and function (Welch et al,. 2015). Additionally, other studies have shown that maintaining moderate to vigorous activity levels and adhering to regular strength training reduces likelihood AND severity of injury (Ikeda et al., 2021, Hulin et al., 2018). A stronger back is a more resilient back!
