Why I run. 🏃🏻‍♀️

My answer to the question, “why do you run?” depends on when I am asked. In earliest memory I ran because my dad ran. In my teens I ran to train for cross country skiing. In my twenties I ran because running helped me to focus on my graduate school studies. In my thirties I ran professionally. In my forties I ran to fight aging. In my fifties I run to celebrate my simple ability to do so after an injury nearly took running from me permanently.

Throughout my life running has been a path toward joy, exploration, and adventure. Running improves my mental and physical health. I believe running improves and even saves lives.

Leading other people to running or helping them return after injury enriches my life. Running has given me more than I could ever ask for. 👟
