Abbie Aamot specializes in rehabilitation and prevention of orthopedic sports related injuries with a special interest in management of lower extremity injuries. Abbie graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University. Post-graduation, Abbie became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist as well as obtaining her Emergency Response Certification for the Athlete. Abbie has pursued a vigorous continuing education curriculum emphasizing management of orthopedic conditions in every body region as well as pain science and its implications for evidence-based rehabilitation. Prior to completing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Abbie worked as head student trainer on Wheaton College’s sports medicine team, obtaining first-hand experience working with athletes and maximizing their time on the playing field.
Abbie is thrilled to be returning to Big Sky Country after working in outpatient orthopedics in Spokane, WA. Abbie gained experience with a wide variety of patient populations with surgical and non-surgical conditions. Her treatment philosophy centers around helping to build patient resilience and self-efficacy while maximizing time and resources through using targeted, evidence-based exercise and manual techniques. Abbie appreciates the never-ending opportunities to learn in the physical therapy field and is working towards her certification through the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) and Institute of Clinical Excellence (ICE). When not in the clinic, Abbie enjoys mountain biking, running and cooking.
