Meet Our Staff
Emily Rothing, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Emily Rothing, PT, DPT grew up in Portland, Oregon, and took yearly trips to the Gallatin Valley to visit her grandparents. She later attended Montana State University as a student in the Honors College and received her Bachelor of Science in Health & Human Performance with a minor in Hispanic Studies. She then completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Eastern Washington University in Spokane, WA. Emily first joined the Excel team at the front desk in 2015 and she’s thrilled to return to Team Excel as a physical therapist in the Manhattan clinic location.
Emily has completed a broad spectrum of continuing education courses and prides herself in her ability to treat a wide variety of orthopedic conditions. Emily believes in staying current with the latest evidence-based research to provide the best physical therapy possible. She comes alongside her patients wherever they find themselves in their rehabilitation journey.
Working collaboratively with her patients to provide specialized rehabilitation programs to meet their goals, Emily creates impactful treatment plans to help patients minimize downtime and return to their life activities. Emily helps coach her patients to be proactive about their pain, building resiliency to reduce the risk of recurring episodes.
Outside of the clinic, Emily enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. You can find her camping, running, Nordic/downhill skiing, mountain biking, gardening, and helping on the Manhattan family ranch.
Jackie Oliver, DPT, OCS
Doctor of Physical Therapy / Orthopedic Clinical Specialist
Jackie Oliver, DPT, OCS completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, one of the top Physical Therapy schools in the nation. She was fortunate enough to complete her clinical rotations and begin her physical therapy career within the University of Utah system, which is consistently ranked near the top in healthcare. Exposed to a wide variety of orthopedic conditions, Jackie is confident when assessing and treating a broad range of orthopedic impairments. Jackie is a certified dry needling provider with advanced training from Evidence in Motion and KinetaCore. Jackie achieved the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist advanced certification after extensive advanced training coursework and a stringent examination process from the American Physical Therapy Association.
While in Utah, Jackie invested her free time in volunteering at the Physical Therapy Pro Bono Clinic in Salt Lake City and has published a paper on low back pain. Jackie has an intense passion for helping and educating others as well as preventative
medicine. Because of her college sports background, Jackie loves working with athletes and has experience with biomechanical training and injury prevention in sports. She is also trained as a Diabetes Lifestyle Coach and has worked for the University of Utah and CDC helping individuals decrease their risk of developing diabetes.
Prior to completing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Jackie played basketball for Carroll College in Helena, Montana, while also obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Science. Jackie was Academic All-American her last two years at Carroll.
Jackie enjoys outdoor activities such as downhill skiing, trail running, disc golf and especially enjoys hiking with her husband and two dogs.
Kylie Metzger, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Kylie Metzger, DPT completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Utah. Kylie enjoys treating patients of all ages, fitness and experience levels. Whether you are brand new to a sport, a seasoned athlete or simply want to be able to walk your dog, she can help care for your sports and orthopedic injuries. Prior to PT school, Kylie attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in Central California, where she studied exercise science and was a member of the club triathlon team. Kylie is currently completing an Orthopedic Residency with Excel Physical Therapy and The Jackson Clinics to become an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). She is advancing her training in complex clinical decision making, modern manual therapy techniques and research based intervention selection.
During her education at the University of Utah, Kylie had the opportunity to complete clinical rotations in various settings to expand her physical therapy knowledge with experience in multiple orthopedic, neurologic, and acute-care settings. Kylie’s treatment approach emphasizes a holistic mind and body approach to rehabilitation, with an emphasis on a collaborative PT-patient relationship, exercise-based treatment and long-term lifestyle adaptations to keep her patients feeling their best. As an Orthopedic Resident and passionate PT, Kylie’s eagerness to learn and improve as a clinician matched with her personable and energetic attitude will make you excited for PT.
When not in the clinic, you can find Kylie mountain biking, skiing, trail-running, or hiking with her golden retriever, Olive. She enjoys trail races, sprint triathlons, and backpacking to remote alpine lakes to fly fish.
